Us Wolves - Recently replaced a guitarist with a keyboardist apparently.  Sounds good enough!

Us Wolves - Were supporting Calder, had never heard of them and actually, not bad at all :)

Calder McLaughlin - Normally Calder’s done his music solo, but now he’s got himself a band. The great thing is, he hasn’t lost any of the subtleties he had on his own, the band add to it, instead of inducing a mush which is what some bands can easily fall into doing.

Calder McLaughlin - Fantastic singer songwriter, now based in Leicester. Please don;t say you can’t find any decent new music, there’s plenty of it out there, you just have to get off your backside and look for it.

Zebrahead crowd - When you’re on stage, with the heat of the lights grilling you, blinding you so you can only see the first 4 rows of people, but when you get that glimpse of a sea of arms raised and waving, it is without doubt an awesome feeling. It’s what playing live is all about for a band. I don’t tend to get many shots of the crowds, but this time round, tried out some different vantage points, and this balcony was perfect!

Zebrahead - I agonised over this shot.  I liked the light and the way it falls, almost this abstract Rolf Harris paint splash effect. I tried it out into black and white, and although it was clearer it lost that initial effect, and that’s something I wasn’t happy about.

Zebrahead - The venue was pretty tricky to shoot in, it has to be said.  Lighting was pretty low level, and even cranking the ISO up into level “Oblivion”, it was struggling.  I quite liked the pose on this shot, sort of reaching for the stars, the start of the show, the impact that’ll hit the audience like a runaway freight train, music building, vocals slow, the deep rumbling of the drums, lights go up, all hell breaks loose, microphone stand drops and then RAWR!! It’s so text book, but it works everytime.
